Recently, I added a calendar to this blog. My intent is to populate it with all the events of interest to anyone with metastatic breast cancer and to include pertinent information and links so readers can skim through the calendar quickly and skip directly to sites by using the posted links.
To use the calendar, click on the +GoogleCalendar button at the bottom of the calendar window. From there it is easy to switch views by clicking your choice; views AGENDA and MONTHLY are probably most helpful when viewing upcoming months.
I will be including all webcasts and other online events and hope that you will let me know when you learn of an event on metastatic breast cancer. Some events may be of interest to all of us even if not specifically targeted to MBC, so I will likely include some of them as well. Social events and retreats sometimes have a broad audience but still include people with MBC.
As I populate the calendar with upcoming events, I will be checking all the sites for relevant information. If you learn of an event that I have not included, please be sure to drop me a note or comment with the link or contact information.
It is a bit sparse now, but I plan to have all the important annual meetings listed for such groups as ASCO, San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium, Metastatic Breast Cancer Network, National Breast Cancer Coalition and more. Living Beyond Breast Cancer and CancerCare offer webcasts that often address MBC; I will list those as soon as they announce such a presentation. In fact, CancerCare has two on the calendar for October. Finally, I will list social events as well as fundraising to raise money for organizations that target metastatic breast cancer.
I like color coding my calendar, so these are the color codes or color blocks that lead the single day entries. Multiple-day meetings show color highlighting for the entire meeting title.
- green teleconference online, teleconference
- blue conference on site, as opposed to online
- yellow annual meeting
- orange social, fundraiser
- red National Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day
As much as I read and search for information on upcoming events, I find it too easy to miss out. My goal is to provide readers with a one-stop list of pertinent events to help keep us all abreast of MBC events. Check it out and let me know what you think.
