silent partners

holding my head up / barely awake i hide from / conscious fearsome thoughts
avoiding times of  / urgent decisions about / this sweet life of love
not one word about / diagnosis, prognosis  / just choices for meals
dancing slowly through / the day slow-slow quick-quick a / lovely slow rumba
we hear a song in / our heart that plays for both when / we need it the most
a glance i cherish / soft silence a tender touch / synchronicity

  1. You have a great way with words. I am impressed with your poetry and feel your presence in this poem.

  2. Courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says, “I will try again tomorrow.”

    heart to heart, ~Sandy

  3. Beautifully expressed. Thinking of you as you work toward your new plan.
