During this free educational teleconference, Catherine Van Poznak, MD, will discuss the types of treatments that are commonly used when a diagnosis of bone metastasis occurs. Throughout the teleconference, Dr. Van Poznak will discuss:

  • Common treatments and healthcare plans for bone metastasis
  • Interventions to treat problems that are caused by bone mets including high calcium, bone fractures and spinal compression
  • Updates on open clinical trials and questions to ask your doctors about your specific care

About Our Speaker

Catherine Van Poznak, MD, is a medical oncologist at the University of Michigan’s Comprehensive Cancer Center in Ann Arbor, Mich. She trained in New York City at Cornell and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, where she was on faculty until recruited to the University of Michigan Breast Oncology Program in 2006. Dr. Van Poznak’s clinical and translational research is in breast cancer and its relationship to bone. Her work includes optimizing the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis in women with a history of breast cancer and maintaining bone integrity in women with advanced breast cancer involving the bone.
