Fevers and Transfusions

Donna continues to have fevers. They don’t come as often or as high. Seems there is an infection in her intestine. The meds are helping with that battle. But a new problem cropped up today. Her blood counts came very low and a transfusion performed. She got two units of blood and she began to feel a little better.

The constant parade of medical problems is wearing her out.But Donna being Donna still moves forward. She keeps telling her doctors that she needs to get better so she can have her chemo this coming Friday.

I will keep you posted.

  4. Thanks Marvin (Don) it’s really hard hanging by and hearing the news of the ups and downs but you keep us all connected with Donna and her journey. I know when you’re writing, she’s not well enough and that makes me uneasy…but sometimes life is a battlefield but remember, every battle has a winner. Donna will keep her chin up always, I can just tell. I hope this will pass soon and she’ll be feeling better soon. I know how much she loves life and you, and your love for her is evident every day. Hang in there, I’m sure it’s very hard for you. You’re a good man. I will send my prayers tonight for both of you that she will be well again soon.

  7. Bless you both. I often feel that this journey is almost harder on the caregiver, especially when it ia a husband. You feel it is your role to protect us and make things right. Cancer comes along and takes over leaving our men feeling helpless. But it is your love, caring, strength, patience, kindness, and attention that makes our journey bearable. Prayers for both of you always-along with hugs and hope.

  8. I’ve no other wise words to offer here, that these wonderful supportive people haven’t said. I just wanted both of you to know that I am always thinking about you and keeping you close in prayers, thoughts and sending warm fuzzies, much strength and good ju-ju your way. Remember to breathe…just breathe.
